XILTEK LIMITED WARRANTY

 

 

1. OVERVIEW

 

Xiltek warrants its new refrigeration units against defects in material and workmanship, subject to the terms, conditions, and exclusions below. Coverage consists of two parts:

 

- A one (1) year parts warranty

- A three (3) year compressor warranty

 

This warranty applies only to units properly installed in an indoor, commercial (non-residential) business setting, and only to the original purchaser.

 

 

2. COVERAGE PERIODS

 

2.1 One-Year Parts Warranty

 

Xiltek warrants all new refrigerated components, the cabinet, and all parts to be free from defects in materials or workmanship, under normal and proper use, maintenance, and installation (see Section 3), for twelve (12) months from the shipment date from Xiltek.

 

- Parts determined by Xiltek to be defective within this period may qualify for repair or replacement, at Xiltek's discretion.

- Parts are subject to availability and will be provided when possible.

- Remote units are limited to a one-year parts warranty covering original cabinet components only. No labor is covered on remote units.

 

2.2 Three-Year Compressor Warranty

 

In addition to the one-year warranty above, Xiltek warrants its compressor to be free from defects in material and workmanship for three (3) years from the date of original installation.

 

- A compressor determined by Xiltek to be defective within this period will, at Xiltek's discretion, be repaired or replaced with a compressor or compressor parts of similar design and capacity.

- This extended coverage applies only to the hermetically sealed parts of the compressor. It does not apply to any other parts or components, including but not limited to: cabinet, paint finish, temperature control, refrigerant, metering device, driers, motor starting equipment, fan assembly, or other electrical components.

 

 

3. INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS

 

For warranty coverage to apply, the unit must be:

 

- Installed indoors, in a commercial building only

- Installed and started up in accordance with the instruction packet supplied with the unit

 

Installation in an unstable, mobile, or enclosed area may not be considered proper installation and may void coverage.

 

 

4. FILING A WARRANTY CLAIM

 

All claims for parts or labor must be submitted directly to Xiltek by the customer and must include:

 

1. Model number of the unit

2. Serial number

3. Proof of purchase

4. Date of installation

5. All information supporting the alleged defect

 

Compressor claims: The compressor itself, or the compressor tag, must be returned to Xiltek along with the information above.

 

Failure to comply with these requirements will result in the claim being voided.

 

 

5. TRANSFERABILITY

 

This warranty applies only to the original purchaser/user to whom the unit was delivered. It is NOT TRANSFERABLE if the unit is sold or assigned to another business, unless otherwise granted in writing by Xiltek. ANY UNAUTHORIZED ASSIGNMENT OR TRANSFER VOIDS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

 

 

6. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

 

Xiltek's sole obligation under this warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of parts, subject to the exclusions in Section 7. This warranty does not authorize any person to assume any other obligation on Xiltek's behalf.

 

XILTEK IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ECONOMIC LOSS, LOST PROFITS, OR SPECIAL, INDIRECT, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOSSES OR DAMAGES ARISING FROM FOOD OR PRODUCT SPOILAGE CLAIMS, WHETHER OR NOT RELATED TO REFRIGERATION FAILURE.

 

 

7. EXCLUSIONS - WHAT IS NOT COVERED

 

7.1 Third-Party Service or Alteration

 

If a customer contacts a third party to alter the unit in any way, the warranty is voided, and Xiltek cannot reimburse or pay for any resulting costs.

 

7.2 Non-Commercial or Unapproved Locations

 

Xiltek assumes no liability for parts, labor, component failure, factory defects, or any other damages for units installed in a non-grounded business setting, including but not limited to:

 

- Outdoor installations

- Mobile kitchens

- Food trucks

- Concession stands

- Residential applications (see Section 8)

 

Xiltek reserves the right to void the warranty where a unit is found in connection with any of the above applications, including general food service applications.

 

7.3 Improper Use, Transportation, Installation, or Maintenance

 

XILTEK ASSUMES NO LIABILITY FOR COMPONENT FAILURE OR OTHER DAMAGES RESULTING FROM: IMPROPER USAGE; IMPROPER TRANSPORTATION (SUCH AS MOVING UNITS IN AND OUT OF FOOD TRUCKS); IMPROPER INSTALLATION; OR FAILURE TO CLEAN AND/OR MAINTAIN THE PRODUCT AS SET FORTH IN THE WARRANTY PACKET PROVIDED WITH THE UNIT.

 

7.4 Normal Wear-and-Tear Parts

 

Parts deemed by Xiltek to be normal wear-and-tear items are not covered, including but not limited to door gaskets and select plastic or rubber components.

 

7.5 Damage, Neglect, or Alteration After Manufacture

 

Xiltek is not responsible for repair or replacement of any parts, including glass, that Xiltek determines have been subjected, after the date of manufacture, to: alteration, neglect, abuse, misuse, accident, damage during transit or installation, fire, flood, or any other natural disaster.

 

7.6 Electrical and Voltage Issues

 

XILTEK IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF FAILED OR DAMAGED COMPONENTS RESULTING FROM INCORRECT SUPPLY VOLTAGE, THE USE OF EXTENSION CORDS, LOW VOLTAGE, OR UNSTABLE SUPPLY VOLTAGE.

 

7.7 Relocation Costs

 

Xiltek is not responsible for the cost of moving a cabinet, for any reason, from its position of operation on the customer's premises in order to perform a warranty repair.

 

 

8. RESIDENTIAL USE POLICY

 

If a commercial unit is ordered for, or used at, a residential location (e.g., a garage or basement), the warranty is voided.

 

Xiltek cannot ship units to residential addresses. If you are unsure whether an address would be classified as residential, please contact Xiltek to confirm before ordering.

 

 

9. NO OTHER WARRANTIES

 

THERE ARE NO OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, EXCEPT THE ONE (1) YEAR PARTS WARRANTY AND THREE (3) YEAR COMPRESSOR WARRANTY DESCRIBED ABOVE. THESE WARRANTIES ARE EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. THERE ARE NO WARRANTIES THAT EXTEND BEYOND WHAT IS DESCRIBED IN THIS DOCUMENT.
